The Full Story
Hello London,

I'm Rose, the chef and founder of Soul Food Seriously.

MY STORY
Growing up, I watched shows like My Wife & Kids, Fresh Prince, Moesha, and Sister Sister. I'd always hear them talking about 'Soul Food', especially during Thanksgiving episodes. Someone would ask for the collard greens, candied yams or cornbread, and I'd wonder what it tasted like.

My curiosity was finally satisfied during trips to Houston and Atlanta in 2010. At Busy Bee's in Atlanta, I ordered fried chicken, mac and cheese, candied yams, and collard greens. After one taste, I was hooked and ate Soul Food every day of my trip.

Returning to London, I craved those authentic flavours but found places that claimed to serve 'Soul Food'. Frustrated by menu after menu of inauthentic 'Soul Food', I embarked on a culinary adventure.
I learned cherished family recipes from my friends in the South and started sharing these dishes at dinner parties. The delight on my friends and family's faces as they took each bite told me everything: London deserves to experience real Soul Food! Now, by God's grace, Soul Food Seriously is ready to serve the streets of London.
